Grier agrees to offer to earn nearly $1.4M

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Right wing Mike Grier re-signed with the
Buffalo Sabres on Monday, accepting a one-year qualifying offer to
earn nearly $1.4 million this season.

Acquired at the trade deadline in 2004 from Washington, Grier
registered a goal and eight assists in 14 games with the Sabres.
With the Capitals, Grier recorded 20 points in 68 games.

A gritty forward, the 30-year-old Grier has 105 goals and 244
points in 612 career games. He recorded a pair of 20-goal seasons
while playing with Edmonton from 1996-2002, and compiled a
career-high 44-point season in 1998-99 with the Oilers.
