Some Predators fans were apparently disappointed Thursday when they didn't see the team's newest star on the ice.
Paul Kariya missed practice and a scrimmage because of a sore ankle. On Wednesday, Kariya was hit by a puck and the team wanted to play it safe.
"He got hit right straight on the bone," Preds coach Barry Trotz told The Tennessean. "So we just said, 'Let's let it heal because it's real early in camp.' I expect him to be on the ice (Friday)."
Kariya signed a two-year deal worth $9 million during the offseason. He played nine seasons with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim and last season with the Colorado Avalanche.
