Belanger retires with 23 points, 695 penalty minutes

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. -- Los Angeles left wing Ken Belanger,
signed to a one-year deal in September, has informed the Kings that
he is retiring, the team said Monday.

The 31-year-old Belanger has played in 248 NHL games, spending
time with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders and Toronto Maple
Leafs in addition to the Kings.

He had 11 goals, 12 assists and 695 penalty minutes during his
career. In five games for Los Angeles this season, he had seven
penalty minutes and no points.
