Rangers re-sign Straka to 1-year, $3.1M deal

NEW YORK -- Veteran forward Martin Straka re-signed with the
New York Rangers on Sunday, agreeing to a one-year deal worth $3.1

The 33-year-old left winger had 22 goals and 54 assists while
playing all 82 games with the Rangers last season, his first with
New York, but went without a point during the team's first-round
playoff loss -- a four-game sweep by New Jersey.

Straka tied for second on the team with four game-winning goals.
During the Torino Olympics, Straka led the Czech Republic in scoring
with eight points -- two goals and six assists -- en route to a
bronze medal.

In 13 NHL seasons, where he also spent time with Pittsburgh,
Ottawa, the New York Islanders, Florida, and Los Angeles, Straka
has 214 goals and 392 assists in 812 NHL games.

Straka has also posted 21 goals and 29 assists in 86 career
playoff games.
