Stars activate offseason acquisition Stefan

DALLAS -- The Dallas Stars on Wednesday activated center
Patrik Stefan, the former No. 1 pick acquired from Atlanta in the

Stefan missed the first two games of the regular season after
going on injured reserve Oct. 3 with a hip injury. He was scoreless
in four preseason games with the Stars.

The 6-foot-2, 205-pound center came to Dallas with
Jaroslav Modry in an offseason trade that sent Niko Kapanen and a
seventh-round draft pick to Atlanta.

The No. 1 pick by the Thrashers in 1999, Stefan has 59 goals and
118 assists in 414 career games. He had 10 goals and 14 assists in
64 games last season.
