Coyotes recall goalie LeNeveu

GLENDALE, Ariz. -- The Phoenix Coyotes recalled goalie David LeNeveu from San Antonio on Thursday, one day after waiving backup goaltender Mike Morrison.

LeNeveu, who will be the new backup to starter Curtis Joseph, got the start Thursday, making 32 saves as the Coyotes defeated Edmonton 6-2.

LeNeveu, 23, played in 13 games for Phoenix last season with a 3-8-2 record and 3.24 goals-against average.

The Coyotes (3-8), had lost four in a row before Thursday's victory.

Morrison has cleared waivers and will be assigned to San Antonio, the Coyotes' American Hockey League affiliate, Phoenix general manager Michael Barnett said.
