Lacerations land Ducks' Fedoruk on injured reserve

CHICAGO -- The Anaheim Ducks placed left wing
Todd Fedoruk on injured reserve Saturday, one day after he suffered
facial lacerations in a loss at Minnesota.

Fedoruk, who will return to Anaheim for further evaluation, has
registered three assists in 10 games this season. He also has
36 penalty minutes, placing him second on the team.

The 27-year-old Fedoruk recorded four goals, 19 assists and 174
penalty minutes in 76 games last season, his first with the
Ducks. He has 14 tallies and 40 assists with 701 penalty
minutes in six NHL seasons with Philadelphia and Anaheim.

To replace Fedoruk on the roster, the Ducks recalled right wing
Shawn Thornton from Portland of the American Hockey League. The
29-year-old did not register a point in 10 contests with
Chicago in 2005-06 and has two goals and one assist in 31 career
games with the Blackhawks.
