RALEIGH, N.C. -- Carolina Hurricanes right wing Patrick Eaves will miss up to three weeks because of surgery on his left shoulder.
The Southeast Division leaders said Thursday that Eaves would have surgery Friday at a hospital in Cary. Team officials say Eaves is expected to be out two to three weeks.
Eaves missed the Hurricanes' 3-2 shootout loss Tuesday to Washington with the flu.
He has one goal and four assists since Carolina acquired him from Ottawa two months ago in the deal that sent Mike Commodore and Cory Stillman to the Senators.
