Panthers recall Taffe in Olesz's absence

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Florida Panthers left winger Rostislav Olesz has missed the team's game against the Buffalo Sabres because of a nagging hand injury.

To fill Olesz's spot in the lineup on Wednesday, the Panthers recalled left winger Jeff Taffe from AHL Rochester.

Olesz continued playing after he was initially hurt during a 4-1 win at Toronto on March 23. He has 13 goals and 14 assists in 73 games.

For Buffalo, left winger Raffi Torres returned after missing six games with a hand injury. To make room, the Northeast Division-leading Sabres returned rookie Mark Mancari to AHL Portland.

Torres has only two assists in seven games for the Sabres since being acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets on March 3.
