Rapid Reaction: Bruins 5, Rangers 2
What it means: The Rangers are now staring down the same series deficit they faced in Round 1 after a 5-2 loss to the Bruins in Game 2, though the Bruins exhibited a killer instinct Sunday that the Capitals never seemed to possess.

Chara Does It All In Boston's Overtime Win
From Elias: Zdeno Chara was on ice for more than half of the playing time in the Bruins' overtime win in Game 1 of their series against the Rangers, and he made his near-constant presence felt by scoring one goal, assisting on Brad Marchand's game-winning goal, and recording nine shots on goal and six hits. Since 1999, the only other NHL defensemen to score a goal and register nine or more shots on goal in one playoff game are Ray Bourque (one goal, 10 shots in in a double-overtime game at Carolina in 1999) and Erik Karlsson (one goal, 10 shots in an OT win against the Rangers in New York last year).

Chara Does Something Orr Didn't
Zdeno Chara assisted on all four of the Bruins' goals in their overtime victory at Toronto. Chara is the first defenseman in Bruins history to record as many as four assists in a playoff game and he's the first Boston player at any position to do that since 1991, when Vladimir Ruzicka registered one goal and four assists in a 5-4 Bruins overtime win in Game 2 of the Wales Conference Final against the Penguins.
