A Milestone For Miller
From Elias: Ryan Miller, in the 500th game of his NHL career and possibly his last game with the Sabres, led Buffalo to a season-ending 2-1 shootout win over the Islanders. Miller, a Michigan native, is the fifth U.S.-born goaltender in NHL history to play 500 regular-season games. The other American goaltenders with at least 500 NHL games on their résumés are John Vanbiesbrouck (882), Tom Barrasso (777), Mike Richter (666) and Frank Brimsek (514).

Miller Solves Senators
From Elias: Sabres goaltender Ryan Miller made 35 saves in his 4-2 win over the Senators in Buffalo. Miller has struggled to beat Ottawa in recent seasons, particularly on home ice. Entering play on Friday Miller had won only one of his last eight games versus the Senators in Buffalo (1-4-3 since February 2009) and only two of his last 12 home games against them (2-6-3 with one no-decision).

Miller Sets Club Record While Snapping Penguins' Streak
From Elias: Ryan Miller became the Sabres' all-time leader in games played by a goaltender (492) when he led Buffalo to a 4-1 victory at Pittsburgh that ended the Penguins' 15-game winning streak. Miller, who passed the former Sabres record-holder, Dominik Hasek (491 games), is one of six active NHL players who hold their current team's career record for games played by a goaltender. The others are Martin Brodeur (Devils), Miikka Kiprusoff (Flames), Cam Ward (Hurricanes), Nicklas Backstrom (Wild), and Ondrej Pavelec (Thrashers/Jets). Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury is one game away from tying Tom Barrasso's club record.
