Umberger Scores Three In Blue Jackets' Win
From Elias: R.J. Umberger scored three goals to lead the Blue Jackets to a 5-1 win over the Hurricanes on Friday night. It was the third hat trick of Umberger's NHL career and his second for Columbus. (His first three-goal game was for the Flyers in 2007.) Umberger is one of only five players in Blue Jackets history with more than one hat trick. The others are Rick Nash (5), Tyler Wright (3), Geoff Sanderson (2) and Jeff Carter (2).

Skinner Reaches 50 Before Reaching 20
From Elias: Jeff Skinner scored a pair of goals, the 49th and 50th of his two-season NHL career, to lead the Hurricanes to a 4-2 win over the Lightning. Skinner reached the half-century mark in goals while still more than two months shy of his 20th birthday (19 years, 299 days as of Saturday). The only other active NHL players who were teenagers at the time they scored their 50th goal are Sidney Crosby (age 19 years, 120 days), Rick Nash (19-249), Ilya Kovalchuk (19-259), Jaromir Jagr (19-345) and Steven Stamkos (19-350).

Nash Nets A Pair
From Elias: Rick Nash scored a pair of goals (the first two goals of the game, in fact) to lead the Blue Jackets to a 5-2 win over Phoenix. It was Nash's fourth multiple-goal game of the season and the 45th of his NHL career, all of which has been spent with Columbus. Nash's 45 multi-goal games are as many as the next four players on the Blue Jackets' all-time list have combined: R.J. Umberger (13), Geoff Sanderson (12), David Vyborny (11) and Kristian Huselius (9).
