Bruins-Rangers scouting report
The Boston Bruins narrowly escaped a first-round upset loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs. The Bruins almost blew a 3-1 series lead, but they were able to rally back from a 4-1 third-period deficit and cap a historic comeback by beating Toronto in overtime to advance to the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Nash Scores 20 In Ninth Straight Season
From Elias: Rick Nash reached the 20-goal plateau for the ninth consecutive season when he scored the first of his two goals in the Rangers' 4-0 win over the Devils. Nash, who was traded to the Rangers by the Blue Jackets last summer, will finish the 2012-13 NHL campaign as the only active player with a current streak of at least nine straight 20-goal seasons. Five players who had entered this year having scored 20-or-more goals in each of the past nine NHL seasons had their streaks come to an end largely because of the lockout-shortened 48-game schedule: Jarome Iginla (13 seasons), Marian Hossa (12), Vincent Lecavalier (12), Ilya Kovalchuk (10) and Martin St. Louis (9).

Nash Reaches A Milestone, Like So Many Of His Fellow #1 Picks
From Elias: Rick Nash scored the 300th goal of his NHL career to open the scoring in the Rangers' 5-2 win at Philadelphia. Nash added number 301 in the third period. Of the 15 forwards chosen first overall in the NHL Entry Drafts from 1984 through 2004, 12 have scored at least 300 goals. The exceptions are Joe Murphy (the #1 pick in 1986), Alexandre Daigle (1993), and Patrik Stefan (1999). Nash was the first pick in the 2002 draft.

Personal Best For Nash
From Elias: Rick Nash's five-game goal-scoring streak came to an end on Sunday afternoon but he did assist of two of the Rangers' four goals in their win at Washington. Nash has scored points in each of the last ten games he's played, which is the longest personal point streak of his NHL career. (He had three nine-game streaks with the Blue Jackets.) Nash has excelled in the six games he's played since returning from a four-game absence due to a concussion, recording points on 11 of the 18 goals the Rangers have scored over that span (six goals, five assists).

One Streak Ends For Nash, Another Continues
From Elias: Rick Nash finally scored a goal that didn't come in the third period when he snapped a shot past Ottawa goaltender Robin Lehner just over 11 minutes into the Rangers' game against the Senators. Nash's NHL record-tying streak of eight consecutive third-period goals to begin a season ended with that goal but at the same time he extended his overall goal-scoring streak to five games. He's only the second Rangers player in the last seven years to score goals in each of five consecutive team games in one season, joining Marian Gaborik, who had a five-game goal-scoring streak in December 2011.
