Paille Scores Winning Goal In Consecutive Games
Daniel Paille scored the first goal in the Bruins' 2-0 victory in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final, after scoring the overtime goal that earned Boston a 2-1 win in Game 2. Paille is only the second player in the last 17 years to score the winning goal in each of two consecutive games in a Stanley Cup Final series, joining Fernando Pisani, who did that for Edmonton in Games 5 and 6 of the 2006 Final against Carolina. That used to be a fairly common feat. In fact, someone pulled it off in each of four consecutive Finals from 1992 through 1995: Mario Lemieux in 1992, John LeClair in 1993, Glenn Anderson in 1994 and Neal Broten in 1995.
