Chief among the suggestions is that he was playing with a mild concussion for parts of the season's latter half. That certainly would help explain a dip in every category that counts for fantasy hockey. Whatever the explanation, it was definitely an off season for Clowe and we can expect his compete level to be very high coming into 2012-13. Clowe is 29 years old and now has seven NHL seasons under his belt, so he will have the ability to bounce back. His chemistry with Logan Couture may not have improved last season, but it was at least maintained. If Couture improves his play, as expected, Clowe should go along for the ride.
