Roy is entering the final year of a six-year contract signed in the summer of 2007.","spin":"Roy struggled to just 44 points in 80 games and was the subject of trade rumours for much of the 2011-12 season. A return to previous levels isn't out of the question, but ice time down the middle will be harder to come by with the late-season emergence of Tyler Ennis and the club's acquisition of Cody Hodgson.","date":"Wed May 23"},"fullName":"Derek Roy","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"Roy had 35 points in 35 games on his way to a possible career-best campaign before a quadriceps injury felled him last season. He returned in time for one playoff game and has had all offseason to get set to match that same pace for the coming season. The Sabres have enjoyed an influx of talent that will allow Roy to be paired up with the best possible wingers on the top line, even if that pushes Vanek out of his usual spot. Roy is a sleeper pick as a fantasy second-liner, with the potential to put up numbers equal to that off your three top forward picks.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Fri Sep 9"},"playerRater30DAY":6.9,"playerRater15DAY":5.1,"positionRank":51}

Roy Ties Franchise Record For Ot Goals
From Elias: Derek Roy's second goal of the game capped the Sabres' comeback from a 3-0 deficit at the end of the first period and earned Buffalo a 6-5 overtime victory against the Maple Leafs. It was the sixth regular-season overtime goal of Roy's NHL and Sabres career, tying the Buffalo team record established by Thomas Vanek earlier this season (November 8). Roy's two-goal performance was the 20th multiple-goal game of his NHL career and his fourth multi-goal game against Toronto, his highest total versus any opponent.
