1-0 On A Short-handed Goal
From Elias: The Canucks defeated the Avalanche on Wednesday, 1-0, on a short-handed goal by Chris Higgins. It's only the second time since the NHL lockout of 2004-05 that a team won 1-0 on a short-handed goal. The previous instance was when the Islanders defeated the Devils on Josef Vasicek's goal on Nov. 16, 2007.
