Apparently that was good enough for the Stars, as they inked him to a three-year, $10.65 million contract extension prior to the ensuing season. To borrow a term from poker, it's clear that the Stars are pot-committed to Lehtonen for now, and for the purpose of racking up the counting stats, he's not a bad option. However, he has never been an elite option in regards to the ratios, and that's not likely to magically change given the Stars' actions this offseason.
