During the lockout, however, he was impressive during his work with the AHL's Charlotte Checkers: an 8-7-2 record coupled with a 2.46/.922 ratios split. Moreover, Ellis certainly had his moments as Jonas Hiller's backup the past two campaigns in Anaheim: just nine wins in 23 appearances, but a 2.51 GAA and .915 SV% over that span.
