His production plummeted this season from 41 to 22 goals after he returned Oct. 18 from July 25 hip surgery. \"I'm not going to come back early,\" Kesler said this week. \"It's going to take six months and the surgeon [Dr. Anthony Miniaci of the Cleveland Clinic] is not going to release me until I'm at full strength and mobility ... even if it goes until December, I'm not coming back until I'm 110 per cent when I know I'm ready and able to play my game.\" Adjust your draft expectations and keeper decisions accordingly.","date":"Fri May 18"},"fullName":"Ryan Kesler","seasonOutlook":{"outlook":"Who can adapt to fit his team's needs more than Ryan Kesler? Now in his prime, Kesler has two straight seasons with nearly 75 points in the bank. He had 50 assists in 2009-10. Last season, Kesler had 41 goals. Whether he needs to perform as a set-up man or a finisher, Kesler is ready for the work. Playing on the team's second line, he doesn't have the best pick of wingers to work with, but lining up on the Vancouver Canucks' first power-play unit puts him with Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin. Despite having second pickings for his wingers, Kesler will have more variety this season. Instead of just Mason Raymond and Mikael Samuelsson, now Christopher Higgins, Marco Sturm and maybe even converted winger Cody Hodgson will be vying for roles on the second line. Hip surgery means Kesler may miss the first couple weeks of the season.","seasonId":2012,"date":"Fri Sep 9"},"playerRater30DAY":2.4,"playerRater15DAY":2.7,"positionRank":16}

Kesler's Fifth Straight 20-goal Season
From Elias: Ryan Kesler reached the 20-goal plateau for the fifth consecutive season when he scored the first goal in the Canucks' 3-2 win against the Jets. Kesler, a Michigan native, is the only U.S.-born player to score at least 20 goals in each of the last five seasons. Two other Americans could match Kesler very soon: Dustin Brown needs one more goal for his fifth straight 20-goal season, and Patrick Kane is four goals shy of doing it.
