After establishing himself as a regular 65-point player, he saw his output drop to 44 points in 74 games playing behind Anze Kopitar on the Kings' depth chart. Richards upped the ante, however, during the playoffs when he settled on a line with former teammate Jeff Carter and Dustin Penner. Playing with that trio in the postseason, Richards potted 15 points in 20 games and showed shades of the player who provided so much value during his tenure with the Flyers. Since the three players will more than likely begin the 2012-13 season on a line together, there is reason to be optimistic about Richards' fantasy production this coming season. Keep in mind, however, that Darryl Sutter is still the coach of this team, and his style in the regular season has always leaned toward having one scoring line instead of two.
