Milestone Assist For Elias
From Elias: Patrik Elias scored the first goal in the Devils' 3-1 win over the Islanders and he set up New Jersey's second goal with an assist, his 50th of the season. Elias, who will turn 36 years old on April 13, has recorded 50 or more assists in one season only once before and that was 11 years ago (56 assists in 2000-01). He's the first player in Devils franchise history (including the team's years in Kansas City and Colorado) to register 50 or more assists in one season at age 30 or older. Before Elias, the oldest player in team history at the time he notched his 50th assist of a season was 29-year-old Scott Stevens in 1993-94.

Devils Finish Strong
From Elias: David Clarkson and Ryan Carter scored third-period goals against Henrik Lundqvist and Patrik Elias added an empty-net marker to propel the Devils to a 4-1 win over the Rangers. It was only the third time in Lundqvist's 40 regular-season games against New Jersey that he allowed more than one goal in the third period. Going into Tuesday's game, Lundqvist had a current streak of seven consecutive goalless third periods against the Devils.
