Gaborik Scores Game-winner In His Blue Jackets Debut
From Elias: Marian Gaborik recorded only two goals in his last 22 games with the Rangers but he scored in his debut with Columbus on Thursday night and it was the game-winning goal in the Blue Jackets' 3-1 victory at Nashville. Gaborik is the second player in Columbus franchise history to score a game-winning goal in his first game with the club. The first was Craig MacDonald on Dec. 31, 2008 at Anaheim, with a goal that turned out to be the last one in his NHL career. Gaborik also scored a goal in the first game he played for his two other NHL teams, the Wild and the Rangers, though neither one of those goals was a game-winner.

Rangers Deal Struggling Gaborik
From Elias: Marian Gaborik, who was traded to the Blue Jackets on Wednesday, scored only two goals over his last 22 games with the Rangers. That matches Gaborik's lowest goal total over any 22-game span in his 12-season NHL career. He had one two-goals-in-22-games stretch with Minnesota in the 2001-02 season, and four overlapping two-in-22 spans for the Wild in the 2003-04 season.

Pavelec Stones The Rangers And Stops Another Gaborik Penalty Shot
From Elias: Jets goaltender Ondrej Pavelec made 28 saves in his 3-1 win over the Rangers, including one on a first-period penalty shot by Marian Gaborik. It was the second time in Pavelec's NHL career that he stopped a Gaborik penalty shot, having done so in the third period of a Rangers-Thrashers game in Atlanta on Feb. 11, 2011. Pavelec has allowed four goals on the six career penalty shots against him by players other than Gaborik.
