Overtime Is Pominville Time
From Elias: Jason Pominville's goal 56 seconds into overtime earned the Sabres a 3-2 victory against the Hurricanes. Buffalo has three overtime wins this season and Pominville has scored or assisted on all of the Sabres' OT goals. He had the first assist on Thomas Vanek's overtime goal against Winnipeg on November 8, and scored the OT winners versus Florida (December 9) and Carolina (Wednesday).

Finally, Another Multi-point Game For Vanek
From Elias: Thomas Vanek recorded one goal and one assist for the Sabres in their overtime win against Carolina. It was the first time that Vanek tallied more than one point in a game since December 16, when he matched his single-game career high with four points against the Maple Leafs (two goals, two assists). Vanek's 32 consecutive games with no more than one point between his four-point game against Toronto in December and his two-point night on Wednesday was the longest multi-point-game drought of his seven-year NHL career. Vanek's longest previous drought of that kind was a mere 18 games in 2009-10.
