Although, he's able to quickly find chemistry with the different personnel who come through the New York Islanders' top-six forwards, Nielsen has limited fantasy upside because a lot of the good he does on the ice is without the puck. His value tends to come in bursts when one of his linemates gets on a hot streak , so his appeal in most fantasy leagues is as a short-term pickup out of the free-agent pool. Playing in the background as the season approaches will also be the presence of Ryan Strome. If the Isles decide to promote Strome to the NHL it will almost certainly be at the expense of Nielsen's role on the second line.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Tue Sep 11"},"playerRater30DAY":5.2,"playerRater15DAY":2.9,"positionRank":43}

Nielsen Is Money In Shootouts
From Elias: Frans Nielsen, who scored the deciding goal in the shootout that gave the Islanders a 3-2 win over the Senators, has scored on nine of his last 11 shootout attempts dating back to December 2011. In the eight seasons that the NHL has been using the controversial tiebreaker (2005-06 to date), Nielsen is the only player with 20 or more shootout attempts who's scored at least 60 percent of the time (25 of 40, 62.5%).
