In fact, some might argue that Allen York is ahead of Mason from a talent standpoint, but it makes more sense to get York the starts down at the AHL level instead of warming the bench. It's tough to see Mason being of much use to fantasy owners; even if Bobrovsky gets hurt for an extended period, there should be a better option available on the waiver wire to replace that production. Perhaps a fresh start next offseason (his deal runs through this campaign) will help right the ship for Mason.
