Sutter Has New-found Penchant For Game-winning Goals
From Elias: Brandon Sutter scored the game-winning goal for the Penguins in a come-from-behind 4-2 victory over the Islanders that extended Pittsburgh's winning streak to 11 games. Sutter, who was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with the Hurricanes last summer, has scored nine goals this season and four of them have been game-winners. That's a single-season career high for Sutter, who did not have any game-winning goals among his 17 tallies for Carolina last season.

Penguins Strike Quickly
From Elias: The Penguins trailed the Bruins, 2-0, with a little over six minutes remaining in the third period but they scored three goals in a 4:15 span (one by Chris Kunitz and two by Brandon Sutter) and pulled out a 3-2 victory which extended Pittsburgh's winning streak to six games. The Penguins have scored three goals in a period once in each of their last six games. Pittsburgh had a franchise-record streak of nine consecutive games with at least one period in which they scored three or more goals in October 1992, but between then and now only one other NHL team managed to do that in six straight games. That was the Red Wings, who had a streak of six consecutive games with three-goal periods in 1993-94.

Three Pens Score Twice
From Elias: Matt Cooke, Chris Kunitz and Brandon Sutter each scored two goals for the Penguins in their game at Montreal, with Sutter's second goal coming 52 second into overtime to earn Pittsburgh a 7-6 victory. It was only the third time in the last 13 seasons that the Penguins had three different multiple-goal scorers in one game. Their other multi-goal trios were Mario Lemieux, John LeClair and Sergei Gonchar on Oct. 27, 2005 against Atlanta (won 7-5), and James Neal, Evgeni Malkin and Tyler Kennedy on March 30, 2012 versus Winnipeg (won 8-4).
