The 23-year-old Dane has potential that hasn't been on display in the NHL to date. He showed some flashes last season but unfortunately is still buried too low on the depth chart to do much damage. It's hard to imagine him making enough strides with limited playing time to start hopping past others on the depth chart, but his skill means he can't be set aside as an afterthought just yet. Eller will need to be patient and, possibly, switch to the wing permanently before he can earn more ice time. An increase in strength, which could be achieved, would also go a long way to bringing Eller's game to the next level.
