Klesla's Four-assist First Period Puts Him In Elite Company
From Elias: Defenseman Rostislav Klesla assisted on four of the Coyotes' six first-period goals in Thursday's game in Nashville. That ties the record for most assists by a player in the first period of an NHL game. The only player besides Klesla to do that in the last 14 seasons was the late Pavol Demitra for the Kings on Nov. 13, 2005 at Columbus. Among the more than one dozen players who've notched four first-period assists in one game are some of the biggest names in NHL history: Wayne Gretzky (the only player to do it twice), Bobby Orr, Brad Park, Mario Lemieux, Eric Lindros and Adam Oates.
