Stamkos Welcomes Cooper With Two Goals
From Elias: Steven Stamkos scored two goals as the Lightning overcame a pair of two-goal deficits and posted a 5-4 shootout win against the Devils, earning Jon Cooper a victory in his NHL head-coaching debut. In one game, Stamkos has scored as many goals for Cooper as he did for his first NHL coach, Barry Melrose. Stamkos played his first 16 NHL games for Melrose and the only two goals he scored during Melrose's brief tenure as Tampa Bay's head coach came in the same game (Oct. 30, 2008 at Buffalo). Stamkos scored 72 goals for the coach who replaced Melrose, Rick Tocchet, 126 goals for the recently-fired Guy Boucher, and two goals for the interim co-coaches who ran the Lightning bench before Cooper assumed the helm.

Stamkos Scores #200
From Elias: Steven Stamkos scored the 200th goal of his NHL career on an empty-net tally with three seconds remaining in the third period that clinched a 4-2 win for the Lightning against the Flyers. Stamkos reached his 200-goal mark in his 354th regular-season game, which is faster than all but two other active players: Alex Ovechkin (296 games) and Teemu Selanne (322). It seems hard to believe now, but Stamkos scored only six goals over the first 51 games of his NHL career.

For 3rd Straight Season, Stamkos Is First To 20 Goals
From Elias: Steven Stamkos became the first NHL player to reach the 20-goal mark this season when he scored a tiebreaking goal early in the third period which held up as the game-winner for the Lightning against the Panthers on Tuesday. Stamkos was also the first player to score 20 goals in each of the previous two seasons. He's only the fifth player in NHL history to be "first to 20" in each of three consecutive seasons (based on the earliest date, including ties for that distinction). The others are all current or future Hall of Famers: Charlie Conacher (1933-34 through 1935-36), Maurice Richard (1949-50 through 1951-52), Bobby Hull (1963-64 through 1965-66) and Jaromir Jagr (1994-95 through 1996-97).
