Duchene And Yandle Each Record Three Assists
From Elias: Colorado's Matt Duchene and Phoenix's Keith Yandle each recorded three assists in the Avs' 5-4 shootout win against the Coyotes. It was only the second NHL game this season in which a player on each team registered three or more assists. The first such game was Montreal's 6-5 shootout victory at Boston on March 27, with Tomas Plekanec assisting on three goals for the Canadiens and Patrice Bergeron doing likewise for the Bruins.

Little Time To Spare
From Elias: Matt Duchene scored his second goal of the game with two-tenths of a second remaining in overtime to earn the Avalanche a 3-2 win against the Sharks. It was the first goal at the 4:59 mark of overtime in an NHL regular-season game since March 18, 2012, when Scott Hartnell scored an OT buzzer-beater for the Flyers against the Penguins, and it was the first such goal in Quebec/Colorado franchise history.

It's Over And Duchene Is The Reason
From Elias: Matt Duchene scored a goal and assisted on three others to lead the Avalanche to a 6-2 win over the Blackhawks that ended Chicago's NHL-record season-opening point streak at 24 games. Duchene is the first player in NHL history to score four or more points in a game against a team that entered play with a single-season point streak of more than 20 games. Two players scored four points in a game against an opponent with an active point streak of exactly 20 games: Montreal's Jacques Lemaire versus the Flyers on Jan. 3, 1977 (the Canadiens won, 6-4) and Nashville's Paul Kariya against the Red Wings on April 18, 2006 (the Predators won, 6-3).
