Senators Pull One Out Of The Fire
From Elias: Colin Greening's goal at 7:39 of the second overtime period earned the Senators a 2-1 win in Game 3 of their series against Pittsburgh, after Ottawa had been only 28.6 seconds away from a 1-0 loss when Daniel Alfredsson forced overtime with a shorthanded goal. It was the second time in this year's playoffs that the Senators got a score-tying goal in the final minute of the third period. Cory Conacher scored the last-minute tying goal in Game 4 of Ottawa's first-round series against Montreal, and the Senators won in overtime on a goal by Kyle Turris. Before this year, the Senators had tied a playoff game with a last-minute goal only twice (Daniel Alfredsson in 2001 and Dany Heatley in 2007) and in both instances the late heroics proved futile when Ottawa lost in overtime.

Greening's Late Goal Lifts Ottawa To Win
From Elias: Colin Greening, who assisted on the Senators' first two goals, scored the goal with 24 seconds left in the third period that snapped a tie and earned Ottawa a 3-2 win against the Maple Leafs. It was the fifth time this month that a NHL player scored a tiebreaking goal in the final minute of the third period. The other players to do that in February are Jay Bouwmeester, Jonathan Ericsson, Jeff Carter and Vinny Prospal. The last calendar month in which at least five such goals were scored in NHL games was October 2007, when there were six.
