He was already dominating the KHL more than he should have at 19 years of age, with 47 points in 54 games split between two clubs last season. He already has four years of professional and international experience under his belt, having debuted in the KHL as a 16-year-old in 2008. He is strong and can beat even great players one-on-one. Look for Tarasenko to make a serious challenge for a roster spot. He does, however, come with the standard coach Ken Hitchcock warning: Rookies have not historically fared well on a lot of Hitchcock teams. To be fair to the coach, he has been proved right about a lot of the young players he was unwilling to use over veterans. But it is still a caution that Tarasenko might have a shorter leash under Hitchcock than he would under other coaches -- especially because defense is one of the only things critiqued about his game.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Tue Sep 11"},"playerRater30DAY":-2,"playerRater15DAY":-1.6,"positionRank":65}
