As a collective, the fantasy hockey world did not see Vokoun's disappointing 2011-12 coming: one of fantasy's studs in the ratio categories in seasons past for a series of toothless Panthers teams, he was joining a team with considerable offensive firepower. Should've been a wonderful match, with fantasy elite status (and real-life hardware) expected by season's end. Thanks to the reviled I-words -- injuries and inconsistency -- Vokoun played in just 48 contests for the Caps, and though his GAA (2.51) and SV% (.917) were serviceable, the fact that he was on the bench (or the shelf) for large stretches of the season was severely disappointing to those who'd acquired him to be their No. 1. The Caps are moving on to Braden Holtby, and with Vokoun's contract expiring, they traded the latter's rights to the Penguins, who inked him to a two-year deal to back up -- and possibly give a little push to -- Marc-Andre Fleury. Fleury's previous backup, Brent Johnson, appeared in 62 games over the past three seasons (20.7 appearances per campaign), so Vokoun could well be one of the better real-life No. 2s out there for fantasy owners this season to stash as a rotational option.","seasonId":2013,"date":"Tue Sep 11"},"playerRater30DAY":-3.2,"playerRater15DAY":8.8,"positionRank":21}
