Daniel Alfredsson out for Game 5
It won't be another game-time decision for Ottawa's Daniel Alfredsson on Saturday. The 39-year-old captain will not even make the trip to New York, the Senators announced Friday afternoon.
Alfredsson has missed the past two games after suffering a concussion in Game 2 on a hit from Rangers rookie Carl Hagelin.
Hagelin was slapped with a three-game suspension for the hit, which earned him a elbowing major, and is not eligible to return until Game 6.
Without Alfredsson in the lineup for the second straight game, the Senators erased a 2-0 deficit in Game 4 to beat the Rangers 3-2 in overtime Wednesday, tying the series 2-2.
Game 5 is Saturday at Madison Square Garden.
