Friday, June 14 Wings' Cup clincher draws bigger ratings Associated Press NEW YORK -- ABC's ratings for Game 5 of the Stanley Cup finals was up 31 percent over the comparable game last season.
Thursday night's game, in which the Detroit Red Wings beat the Carolina Hurricanes 3-1 to clinch their third NHL title in six years, had a national rating of 4.2 with an 8 share. Game 5 of last season's Colorado-New Jersey series drew a 3.1 with an 5 share. That series finished in seven games.
The three-game average for ABC was 3.6 with a 7 share, up 9 percent from last year's five-game average.
Thursday night's rating was comparable to last year's Game 7, which had a 4.2 with a 9 share. |
