Injury might keep Sharks' Guerin off the ice for Game 6

San Jose forward Bill Guerin is hopeful he can play in Game 6 of the Sharks' second-round series against the Detroit Red Wings on Monday night after taking a puck to the face in Game 4, according to a published report.

"I feel good right now," Guerin said, according the Detroit Free Press. "Haven't had any headaches or any problems like that. No need for any medication. I have a CAT scan tomorrow. We'll see what that says. Stuff like this, I guess you have to be cautious and move slowly."

Sharks coach Ron Wilson didn't seem as optimistic that Guerin would be in the lineup Monday night.

"I don't think he's playing," Wilson said, according to the paper. "I expect him to be ready on Wednesday. [Monday is] 50-50. So we'll see."

Detroit leads the series 3-2. A possible Game 7 would be Wednesday night in Detroit.

Guerin, who sat out a San Jose loss in Game 5 on Saturday, says the medical staff will determine if he can play in Monday night's home game.

"If things are OK, I guess we'll move forward and we'll do the right things," Guerin said, according to the paper. "The most important thing is guys taking care of tomorrow night."

Guerin, who was acquired right before the trade deadline by the Sharks, has had just two assists in nine games this postseason.
