Power Rankings: Red Wings stay No. 1, while Leafs take dive

Updated: January 24, 2006, 10:15 AM ET

We know it has been a few weeks, so forgive us.

There has been some movement in the Power Rankings over the past few weeks, but one team has remained constant and that's the Detroit Red Wings.

The Carolina Hurricanes (9-1-0 in their last 10 games) and the Philadelphia Flyers (fantastic during that 11-game road trip) have had great weeks, but how about the resurgence of the New Jersey Devils, Atlanta Thrashers and Vancouver Canucks? All three have pushed themselves back into playoff contention, thanks, in part, to some solid goaltending.

Unfortunately, we can't say the same for the Toronto Maple Leafs, who now sit one point out of the playoff race after a 4-6-0 slide. They take a bit of a dive this week in our offering.

Did you miss us? Do you wish we'd crawl back under our cubicles? Either way, have your say here. Until next time ...
