Week:

It took eight weeks, but we finally have a new No. 1 in our weekly Power Rankings.

The Detroit Red Wings bumped the Ottawa Senators out of the top spot in Week 8. Sure, some can point to the overall standings and say, "Of course! It's because they have more points than the Sens." But, really, points seem arbitrary right now, especially at the top of the standings.

With just one point separating Detroit (34) and Ottawa (33) heading into Wednesday's games, this has more to do with the Wings' league-leading 81 goals, their 9-2-0 home record and the continued stellar play from Henrik Zetterberg and Chris Osgood. The Sens, meanwhile, have lost three straight and look to get out of their mini-funk (hello, Mike Fisher!).

As always, you can weigh in and rank your 30 teams here.

Until next week, puckheads!
