PITTSBURGH (Ticker) -- The Southeast Division-leading Atlanta
Thrashers hope to add to the league-worst Pittsburgh Penguins'
misery when they meet on Monday at Mellon Arena.
The Penguins are 2-8-1-1 over their their last 12 contests,
losing their last two. On Saturday, Pittsburgh suffered a 4-3
setback at Carolina.
Rookie Konstantin Koltsov had a goal and an assist and Brian
Holzinger and defenseman Patrick Boileau also scored for the
Penguins, who were outshot, 17-4, in the second period when the
Hurricanes scored three times to take the lead for good.
The Thrashers had lost back-to-back contests after a four-game
winning streak before edging Tampa Bay on Saturday, 2-1.
Vyacheslav Kozlov tied the contest 4:49 into the third period
and J.P. Vignier scored the go-ahead goal on a power play with
just under five minutes remaining.
Last season, Pittsburgh was 3-0-0-1 against Atlanta, posting a
win an overtime loss here.
