Edmonton (11-13-3-0) at San Jose (9-8-9-2) 10:30 pm EST

SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- The San Jose Sharks can stretch their home unbeaten streak to seven games on Thursday when they host the Edmonton Oilers.

San Jose is 3-0-3 in its last six home games, having allowed only 10 goals in that span. The Sharks opened the season with a seven-game home winless streak (0-4-3).

Defenseman Scott Hannan and tough guy Scott Parker each scored in the first period, but San Jose blew the lead in Wednesday's 3-2 setback at Anaheim. The Sharks had an 11-4 edge in shots on goal in the first period, but had only nine shots over the final two periods.

Edmonton is 1-6-1 in its last eight games after Tuesday's 3-2 loss to Carolina. Tommy Salo, who missed 13 games with a hip injury, made his return and made 22 saves.

The Oilers are 4-1-0 in their last five road games.

Raffi Torres scored his first NHL goal in a 5-2 victory for Edmonton in its season opener over San Jose. Ryan Smyth scored a pair of goals for the Oilers.
