Ottawa (22-11-5-3) at Carolina (14-18-8-2) 5:00 pm EST

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- The Ottawa Senators try to avoid their first losing streak in more than a month on Sunday when they continue a four-game road trip against the Carolina Hurricanes.

The Senators are 13-3-3-0 since the start of December after having their 11-game unbeaten streak snapped on Friday. They have not lost consecutive games since November 27-29.

Ottawa also had its season-high six-game winning streak snapped with Friday's 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Todd White and Martin Havlat scored 25 seconds apart in the third period for the Senators, who lost for the first time since December 13.

Ottawa allowed three goals or less for the 22nd consecutive game - the longest streak in the NHL this season.

The Senators had their seven-game road unbeaten streak snapped, falling to 9-4-2-1 away from home this season.

Carolina failed to win three straight games for the first time this season after stumbling to a 4-1 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday.

Jeff O'Neill scored the lone goal for the Hurricanes, who lost to the lowly Capitals for the third time this season.

Ottawa rolled to a 6-1 victory over Carolina in the first meeting between the teams at the Corel Centre on November 20. Zdeno Chara and Bryan Smolinski recorded two assists apiece for the Senators, who scored six unanswered goals.
