MONTREAL (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens try to avoid a
third straight home loss on Sunday when they host the Chicago
Montreal was on the short of a 1-0 home loss to Boston on
Saturday. The Canadiens came up empty on 34 shots and lost for
the fourth time in five games overall.
The frustrating loss had Montreal limiting Boston to 16 shots
and Yanic Perrault hit the goalpost in the third period.
Goaltender Jose Theodore has lost four straight starts.
The Canadiens have scored just five goals in their last five
Chicago ended a 19-game road losing streak with Friday's 5-3
victory at Calgary. Mark Bell had a goal and two assists in the
third period as the Blackhawks won on the road for the first
time since a 2-1 triumph at Nashville on November 7.
Tuomo Ruutu scored twice and Steve Sullivan, the team leader
with 36 points, also tallied as Chicago improved to 1-3 on a
six-game road trip.
Chicago's Brian Sutter will coach his 1,000th game, becoming the
10th person in league history to accomplish the feat.
Montreal posted a 4-3 victory over Chicago in the lone matchup
between the teams last season.
