10 against the archrival New York Rangers.
Rookie Trent Hunter scored twice as New York snapped a
three-game winless slide (0-1-2) by salvaging the finale of a
four-game road trip with Friday's 5-2 victory at Phoenix.
Mariusz Czerkawski also scored to extend his streak to three
straight games with a goal.
The Islanders are 13-1-3 when Hunter scores this season.
Los Angeles is completing seven-game road trip on which it is
2-2-1-1. The Kings suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey
Pavel Rosa and rookie defenseman Tomas Zizka each scored in the
first period to stake Los Angeles to a 2-1 lead. The Kings had
12 shots on goal in the first 20 minutes, but managed only 14
the rest of the game.
New York posted a 3-2 victory at Los Angeles last season in the
lone meeting between the clubs.
