Los Angeles (22-17-13-6) at NY Islanders (27-21-7-2) 12:00 pm EST

UNIONDALE, New York (Ticker) -- The New York Islanders try to stretch their home unbeaten streak to six games on Monday when they host the Los Angeles Kings.

New York is 4-0-1 in its last five home games and has scored 20 goals in that span. The Islanders' last setback was on January 10 against the archrival New York Rangers.

Rookie Trent Hunter scored twice as New York snapped a three-game winless slide (0-1-2) by salvaging the finale of a four-game road trip with Friday's 5-2 victory at Phoenix. Mariusz Czerkawski also scored to extend his streak to three straight games with a goal.

The Islanders are 13-1-3 when Hunter scores this season.

Los Angeles is completing seven-game road trip on which it is 2-2-1-1. The Kings suffered a 3-2 overtime loss to New Jersey on Sunday.

Pavel Rosa and rookie defenseman Tomas Zizka each scored in the first period to stake Los Angeles to a 2-1 lead. The Kings had 12 shots on goal in the first 20 minutes, but managed only 14 the rest of the game.

New York posted a 3-2 victory at Los Angeles last season in the lone meeting between the clubs.
