ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Atlanta Thrashers try to match thier season high with a fourth straight win when they host the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday at Philips Arena.

The Thrashers have won four games in a row twice this season, most recently from December 5-12.

On Tuesday, Atlanta beat the New York Rangers on the road, 4-3, in the back end of a home-and-home series.

Dany Heatley, Ilya Kovalchuk, Daniel Tjarnqvist and Randy Robitaille scored for the Thrashers, who are 11 points behind the New York Islanders for the eighth and final Eastern Conference playoff spot.

The Hurricanes are 0-1-1-1 in their last three contests since a three-game unbeaten streak.

On Tuesday, Carolina lost at Columbus, 3-0, after going 0-for-4 on the power play. The Hurricanes are 1-for-14 on man advantages in their last three games.

The Hurricanes have won two of the first three meetings between the teams this season, including a 4-3 decision here on January 18.
