LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Montreal Canadiens try to record their seventh victory in eight games when they visit the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday at the Staples Center.

The Canadiens have won six of their last seven contests, including a 4-3 triumph at Phoenix on Friday.

Richard Zednik and Saku Koivu each had a goal and an assist for Montreal, which climbed within three points of sixth-place New Jersey in the Eastern Conference.

The Kings are coming off a 1-1 tie against Minnesota on Thursday.

Luc Robitaille scored and Cristobal Huet recorded 31 saves for Los Angeles, which was opening a three-game homestand.

Los Angeles is in eighth place in the Western Conference, one point behind Calgary and four ahead of St. Louis.

This is the only encounter between the teams this season. The teams split two games last season with each winning at home.
