TAMPA, Florida (Ticker) -- Rookie sensation Sidney Crosby might have to sit out Sunday when the Pittsburgh Penguins face the Tampa Bay Lightning.

Crosby, who leads the Penguins with 12 goals and is tied with Ziggy Palffy for the team lead in points (28), suffered a bruised left foot when he was hit by a shot in the third period of Friday's 6-3 loss at Florida.

The top pick in July's draft, the 18-year-old Crosby leads all rookies in points and assists. Only Washington's Alexander Ovechkin, who was the top pick in the 2004 draft, has more goals among rookies (16) this season.

Palffy collected a goal and two assists Friday for his second straight three-point game. It was his fourth consecutive game with at least one point.

The defending champion Lightning were riding a season-high four-game winning streak before taking an 8-2 setback against New Jersey in the opener of a six-game homestand on Friday. It was the most goals surrendered by Tampa Bay this season.
