SAN JOSE, California (Ticker) -- Joe Thornton and the San Jose Sharks look to get rolling again offensively when they host the lowly St. Louis Blues on Friday.

The Sharks have gone 7-2-0 since acquiring Thornton from the Boston Bruins on November 30 and have averaged 4.2 goals per game with the three-time All-Star center in the lineup.

However, San Jose never got going offensively in its 2-1 loss to the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday.

Patrick Marleau tallied 90 second into the contest, but the Sharks failed to score after that. Thornton did not register a point, snapping his 14-game points streak and an eight-game streak with San Jose.

St. Louis has dropped three straight to San Jose and nine of 12 overall.

On Friday, the Blues hope to bounce back from a 6-3 drubbing at the hands of the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Dean McAmmond registered a goal and an assist for St. Louis, which allowed Anaheim to tally four times in the first period.
