NEW YORK (Ticker) -- The New York Rangers apparently are not the least bit intimidated by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Rangers go for their third win this season against the defending Stanley Cup champions when the teams hook up Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

New York is 2-0 against Tampa Bay this season with the wins coming by the combined score of 9-2.

Dominic Moore scored twice for the Rangers in a 5-2 victory on November 10, while defenseman Tom Poti's power-play goal snapped a tie with under two minutes remaining in a 4-2 triumph on December 22.

The Rangers are coming off a road trip in which they went 1-1-1, concluding with a 4-3 overtime loss to Pittsburgh on Saturday.

New York bounced back from three one-goal deficits behind tallies from Jaromir Jagr, Martin Rucinsky and defenseman Fedor Tyutin but still lost for the fifth time in seven games.

Tampa Bay had lost seven of its last nine games before recording a 2-1 triumph over the New York Islanders on Monday night. Reigning MVP Martin St. Louis' shorthanded goal with 4:57 remaining provided the difference for the Lightning, who also got 35 saves from Sean Burke.
