The Mighty Ducks on Friday tallied three times in the first
period against star goaltender Marty Turco. However, Anaheim
squandered the lead in the third session and ultimately dropped
a 4-3 decision in a shootout to the Dallas Stars.
Giguere stopped 22 shots and made a dazzling save early in the
shootout. But the 2003 Conn Smythe Trophy winner yielded a soft
goal to Dallas' Antti Miettinen in the sudden-death portion of
the shootout, as Anaheim fell 1-7 in overtime games this season.
Teemu Selanne scored his team-leading 19th goal and set up
another in the opening session for the Mighty Ducks, who fell to
2-1-1 on their five-game road trip.
Minnesota also hopes to bounce back from a tough contest, a 4-2
loss at the hands of the Colorado Avalanche on Thursday.
