PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Flyers cannot wait for the Olympic break to get here.

Struggling for wins and battling through injuries, the Flyers look to avoid a fourth straight loss Wednesday when they host the New York Islanders in an Atlantic Division matchup.

Philadelphia lost for the ninth time in 12 games on Sunday, absorbing a 5-0 pounding at the hands of the Montreal Canadiens.

Antero Niittymaki made 31 saves but allowed all five goals, including a hat trick to Michael Ryder, as the Flyers were shut out for the third time in their last 14 games.

Adding to Philadelphia's problems, the team announced Tuesday that leading scorer Peter Forsberg suffered a setback in practice and will be sidelined longer with a groin injury. The Flyers also disclosed that center Keith Primeau will not be cleared to return this season due to lingering effects from a concussion suffered in October.

The Islanders are coming off a 3-2 overtime loss to Tampa Bay on Monday in which they squandered a 2-1 lead in the final minute of regulation. Jason Blake and Mike York scored for New York, which has dropped two of its last three games.

Philadelphia has won three of four meetings between the teams this season.
